The word chakra is from the Sanskrit for “wheel.” Seven main energy distribution points in the body run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. They are also called psychic centres of consciousness.
Migraines may be a side effect of an unbalanced chakra or blocked chakra. However, migraines can be eased and cured without the aid of prescription drugs by clearing and balancing the chakras. The chakras are points of energy in the body that represent different parts of the body or body systems. The chakras affect both physical and emotional energy flow.
The two chakras most concerned with migraines are Ajna, Sanskrit for command, and Anahata, Sanskrit for unstruck. They are located in the head. Ajna is a sixth of the seven primary chakras and is also known as the brow chakra or the third eye. It is in the centre of the forehead between the eyes. This chakra is linked to psychic ability and the pineal and pituitary glands. Migraines are thought to be a sign of an unbalanced Ajna chakra. When balanced, it is a deep indigo colour.
Sahasrara, or the thousand-petalled lotus, is the seventh of the primary chakras. This chakra can also be called the crown chakra since it is located at the top of the head and includes the entire crown area. Sahasrara balances energy throughout the body with help from roots. Stress, fatigue, sleep problems, and migraines are all associated with an unbalanced crown chakra. When balanced, the Sahasrara is violet. Meditation, visualization, and colour therapy are all excellent ways to restore balance to the head’s chakras.
Many people find crystals and semiprecious stones helpful in focusing and balancing their chakras. If you have a crystal that you love, use it to help balance your chakras. Hold it in your hand or place it on the chakra you wish to heal.
