If your dog is suffering from yeast or ear infections, you can treat it with either of these oils. Put the oils into a spray bottle with a base oil and swab the inside of the ear after cleansing. Lavender oil is often used topically to soothe the skin and relieve itching. It also helps with minor scrapes, bruises, burns and cuts. Tea tree oil is powerful and has antifungal and antibacterial properties. Bergamot helps with inflammation, antifungal, antibacterial and antiseptic.

To repel fleas, use peppermint, citronella, lemon and clary sage essential oils. Ticks are repelled by geranium, bay, lavender and myrrh essential oils. 15-20 drops of these oils diluted with a base oil and sprayed on your dog daily will keep the ticks and fleas away.

To relieve emotional stress create a lavender, Neroli, and Marjoram blend. Mix the oils with a carrier oil such as jojoba or sweet almond oil. Apply the blend to the spine and head lightly. Repeat when necessary. This blend will relieve emotional stress.

To relieve anxiety and loneliness, blend one drop of rose otto, five drops of cypress, and marjoram essential oils with a carrier oil. Apply the mixture to your spine and headlight. Repeat as often as necessary.

6 drops of lavender, 2 drops of Roman chamomile, and 4 drops of petitgrain mixed with a carrier oil and applied to the spine and head will reduce nervousness and hyperactivity.

Keep in mind the dog’s sensitive sense of smell into account when using essential oils. A dog that is besieged by the smells of blends may pace, whine, or rub her / her head on the ground. Introduce your dog to essential oils slowly and in small amounts.
